Bring your hiking boots as we hike to the falls. Its about ½ mile to the falls and ½ mile back. This Lower falls trail is dirt, hard packed trail. Directions: (About 1 hour 10 minutes) Rt. 27 South to I-270 South to I-495 East; Exit 33 towards Chevy Chase (bear right off ramp). After 2.7 miles, enter roundabout (Chevy Chase Circle) and take 4th exit onto Connecticut Ave NW; go another 3 miles, and the Zoo is on your left.
